This is essentially what is happening in this superb piece of key art for Masha Shilinski&#39;s festival darling, Sound of Falling. Had I seen this poster, or the trailer (also attached below) this film would have been at the top of my list of must-sees at TIFF this year. No matter, Mubi is releasing it in a few short weeks theatrically, followed by their streaming service. Back to the poster, I am keen on the contrast of black fabric and pale German skin tones with hints of...

Give me a dominant colour, some architectural symmetry and a stylized title, and I am a happy boy. This cool blue teaser poster for the new Spike Lee Joint, Highest 2 Lowest, a remake of Akira Kurosawa&#39;s classic (and my personal favourite of his incredible body of work) High and Low, is&nbsp;both ominous and calming.&nbsp; Given the look at class differences, and integrity of labour, in the original work, looking up at the Brooklyn Bridge, in all its glory, is a great teaser image for the film. The white text pops in one of the support pillars. as does the great, very Spike, tagline &quot; All $$ Ain&#39;t Good $$.&quot;&nbsp; As every good teaser poster deserves a teaser trailer, you fan find its brassy, wordy, and...

There are many ways to make a piece of key art. Be it a minimalist totem or icon from the film, those adventure blockbuster collages, be it photoshop or hand-painted, the surreal Dada-ist Polish style, or simply a shot of the close-up or single frame from the film. Obviously there are many more, but these come up again and again, and never seem to go out of style. If I had to have a preference, the single snapshot (which I used to call the Korean-style, after many of these lightly touched photos comprised key art for Korean films in the early 21st century -- albeit that label can be a bit reductive given the wide breadth of that countries current cinema) tableaux is probably my...

Writer-director Marc Carrete (Asmodexia) premiered the first trailer for his upcoming new feature Lagunas, La Guarida del Diablo two days ago at the Molins Horror Film Festival and we&#39;re happy to present the online premiere of the Spanish language creeper here. Josu&eacute;&#39;s life revolves around the old grocery store he inherited from his father and the care of an insane brother whom he must keep locked up. The bar, his faith, and his friendship with Abigail, a street girl, are his only escape valves. But Josu&eacute;&#39;s routines are violently altered the night his brother manages to escape. Josu&eacute; will try to cover up the brutal misdeeds of his brother, but the perverse reality of the events will turn his existence upside down, forcing him...

Searchlight Pictures just dropped a short, single-shot teaser trailer for Chloe Zhao&#39;s (The Rider) new feature, Nomadland. And it is beautiful, measured, and melancholic, with Frances McDormand at her understated best. Adapting Jessica Bruder&#39;s journalism-novel of the same name, the film follows a number of people of the Baby Boomer persuasion that have opted out of home ownership (voluntarily or not) and roam the American West in their vans and motorhomes looking for sporadic work and companionship in a seasonal pattern. The film has been selected for the high-tier festival circuit -- Telluride, TIFF (Attention: Drive-in Screening!), New York -- before a regular release (again, one hopes for drive-in experiences on this one, given the subject matter) on December 4th. Have a look at the...

It&#39;s been a little while since we&#39;ve heard from Spanish oddball auteur Manuel Arija but - yes, oh, yes - it&#39;s been worth the wait. Arija has been quiet since first making waves here and on the international festival circuit with a string of very, very good and very, very weird short films (My Love Lives In The Sewers, La Pinata, Little Appliances) that showcased remarkable technical skills with a playful sense of the absurd. After years of development and false starts across other projects, Arija now makes the step in to feature films with Ultrainnocense - a feature adapted from a stage play - and all the elements that made his short films so compelling are very much in effect here. A religious organisation...

Psychedelic western band Spindrift recently toured the famous ghost towns and haunted locations of the American frontier, documenting their wild travels in a new poyte-tinged documentary inspired by their favourite film sub genre, the Spaghetti Western. Their high concept tour consisted of shows at the ghost town Bodie, CA and the Valley of Fire. They also had a pitstop at the Crazyhorse Monument in Wyoming. All of this travel and musical collaboration led to even more music, including new tracks &quot; When I Was a Cowboy&quot; and &quot;Blood and Saddle.&quot; The new documentary Spindriftt&#39;s Haunted West will debut on DVD and Digital platforms this July, full of heartbreaking vistas and surreal musical performances that psych rock fans will dig.&nbsp; Check out the film&#39;s trailer below....

It&#39;s been a long time coming, kids, but Seth Ickerman&#39;s cosmic opera Blood Machines is almost here! Not only has a brand new trailer arrived confirming their May 21 release date on Shudder but the original score from Carpenter Brut has just been released as well. BLOOD MACHINES follows two space hunters tracking down a machine trying to free itself. After taking it down, they witness a mystical phenomenon: the ghost of a young woman pulls itself out of the carcass, as if the spaceship had a soul. Trying to understand its nature, they start chasing the woman through space... Early 2017, after a decade creating stunning imagery in their garage with no budget, Seth Ickerman are kicking into high gear with BLOOD MACHINES, an...

In Sonejuhi Sinha&#39;s taut and topical debut crime thriller Stray Dolls, a young Indian immigrant is pulled into a whirlwind of criminal activity by her persuasive roommate. The film, which was nominated for the Best Narrative Feature award at the Tribeca Film Festival, and landed Sinha on Indiewire&#39;s &quot;25 Rising Female Directors to Know&quot; list, will see a wide release from Samuel Goldwyn Films in April. Stray Dolls hosts a compelling cast in Geetanjali Thapa (Trapped) as the conflicted Riz, with Olivia DeJonge (Better Watch Out) playing Dallas. Cynthia Nixon, of Sex and the City fame, stars as Una, the owner of a seedy motel where Riz finds a job. Samuel Goldwyn Films plans to show at several theatres, while simultaneously debuting on most major...

Like many things when capturing attention, it is all about the eyes. The key art for this Canadian neo-noir re-imagines the tacky urban theme park slash tourist trap, the eponymous Clifton Hill, that is barnacled to Niagara Falls, as a haze of foreboding gloom.&nbsp; Gazing upon the water and lights, but really looking back at us, the human condition and all that. That is what good cinema does. This design also features some of my favourite things in recent poster work, the neon typesetting, the pinks, and the deliberate framing of the credit block. There are some droplets of water on the window that evoke tears, as the Clifton Hill skyline evokes police cherries and crime scenes. It is also a certain thrill for aficionados...

    <title>VEROTIKA Trailer: Danzig&apos;s Horror Debut Looks Wild</title>

The first trailer for legendary rocker Glenn Danzig&#39;s directorial debut, Verotika has landed ahead of the film&#39;s release in February and it looks as mad as you hoped. Based on his own hit comics (also called Verotika), the film has gained something of a huge cult following since its premiere at Cinepocalypse in June, with some calling it the new The Room (and we think that&#39;s a compliment). Compiled as a horror anthology, Verotika takes us deep inside Danzig&#39;s own psyche with stories focused on horror content that&#39;s often sexual, violent and usually featuring scantily-clad female protagonists. Cleopatra Entertainmnet will release the film on VOD on February 25 with a Blu-ray release scheduled for March 3, 2020. Check out the trailer below:...

Well, hello there, Asian horror fans, have we got a little something for you ... If a film titled The Queen Of Black Magic isn&#39;t enough to get your attention on it&#39;s own, how about this: Kimo Stamboel - who first arrived on the scene as one half of Indonesian directing duo The Mo Brothers (Macabre) - has teamed up with Satan&#39;s Slaves writer-director Joko Anwar - here working purely in a writing capacity - to remake the Indonesian classic. That get your attention a little bit more? Well, good, because we&#39;ve got the English subtitled trailer below and it&#39;s a dandy. Check it out....

Yep, it puts a lot of weight on Kiel McNaughton&#39;s upcoming action-comedy The Legend Of Baron To&#39;a to start off by comparing it to the work of Stephen Chow and Taika Waititi, but hey ... when you take a cast made up entirely of Pacific Islanders and Maori and put them in a character driven action comedy rooted in the world of pro wrestling then these sorts of comparisons are somewhat inevitable. &lsquo; The Legend of Baron To&rsquo;a&rsquo; tells the story of Fritz, a Tongan entrepreneur who returns to his old neighbourhood and inadvertently causes the theft of his late father&rsquo;s valued pro wrestling title belt by some ruthless gangsters led by &lsquo;man-mountain&rsquo; Tahu. When negotiation and diplomacy fail to get it back, he is forced...

<title>SPUTNIK: Fabulously Creepy Trailer For Egor Abramenko&apos;s SciFi Horror Delights</title>

Hands up, everyone who delights in the squirming unease delivered by Ridley Scott&#39;s iconic scifi horror Alien. That&#39;s pretty much all of us, yeah? And while I hesitate to make assumptions I&#39;m quite certain that Russian director Egor Abramenko&#39;s hand would be up as high as anyone else&#39;s right now because while his debut feature, Sputnik, carves out its own unique space that sense of unease is so very familiar. Long time readers here may very well recall Abramenko&#39;s name as we&#39;ve been following his work here since he was still in film school as we waited for him to take the step up to features. The first trailer and poster have premiere for the latest genre-bending scifi/horror anthology by the creators of the V/H/S series called Portals. Created by Chris White, segments are set around a series of worldwide blackouts -- after which millions of mysterious cosmic anomalies appear everywhere across the planet. While many flee from the sentient objects, some people are drawn toward -- and into -- them with horrifying consequences. Portals is having its World Premiere at Beyond Fest this Friday, October 4, at Hollywood&#39;s famed Egyptian Theatre (tickets are FREE, available at the Egyptian Theatre box office one hour before showtime; 2 tix per person max). Following the event, Screen Media will release Portals on VOD platforms and limited theaters on October 25. Directors include Eduardo...

Following his acclaimed short film work, South African director Matthys Boshoff makes his feature debut with upcoming period drama The Story Of Rachel de Beer. Adapted from a best selling Afrikaans language novel by Brett Michael Innes - himself and acclaimed local filmmaker - the picture looks to be eqqual parts period drama and taut thriller. South African wilderness 1800s. Five years after their mother died, Rachel, a girl on the cusp of adolescence, and 5-year-old Jamie are on their way to the gold fields with their father, Herman. When Jamie goes missing in a freak snow blizzard, will Rachel be able to save him from certain death? If there&#39;s a villain here it&#39;s the hostility of nature coupled with the pride of the family...

<title>THE GIRL WITH NO MOUTH: Watch The Trailer For Can Evrenol&apos;s Dark Fable</title>

Baskin director Can Evrenol will soon be hitting the festival circuit with his latest offering, The Girl With No Mouth, and those hoping for a little taste of the dark fable now get their wish with the arrival of a festival teaser for the film. Girl With No Mouth is a coming-of-age story about Perihan, a girl born without a mouth, who is befriended by a gang of three boys also missing body parts, while on the run from the authorities. If you&#39;re seeing shades of Guillermo Del Toro and the Brothers Grimm in there, you&#39;re not the only one, with Evrenol here putting his distinctive stamp on the sort of fairy tale intended as a dark, cautionary work as the Grimm work was before...

And, yep, if you think you have an idea where a horror film called The House is going you&#39;re not wrong but the fun of this particular haunted house tale will come with the format: With La Casa Olguin is laying his chills out entirely in real time. Inspired in real events, La Casa is a horror and mystery film, recorded in real time. A police officer in the late 80&#39;s, is trapped in an old house where violents and paranormal events occur. <title>Friday One Sheet: LOW TIDE and Orange Gradients</title>

Learn to love your gradient. That is the heart of the sunset orange glow of the key art for Low Tide. It&#39;s different, and minimalist, enough to grab ones attention in a multiplex hallway of crowded photoshop nightmares (i.e. typical movie posters).&nbsp; Promising a modern, edgier, Goonies-style treasure hunt with its ominous (but tiny) tagline, and silhouette of four children in a boat, A24 keeps the imagery small, and the title card HUGE. Fitted with its own set of contrasting gradients, the title daring to bleed right to the side-edges of key art. The credit block has more sanity in its (much) smaller size, and centred positioning below the title. And, all that negative space in the top half of the poster incites goosebumps!&nbsp; SWOON....

Momentum Pictures has released an official trailer for Nekrotronic, the next indie horror comedy film from the Australian director of Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, Kiah Roache-Turner. A film about an internet demon and the secret hunters who bring them down (yes, you read that correctly), the film looks like a surreal descent into wacky, neon-soaked madness. Ben O&#39;Toole plays Howard &#39;Howie&#39; North, a down-on-his-luck sewage worker dragged into a global conflict, while the great Monica Bellucci plays the villain, an evil demon who absorbs people&#39;s souls to gain more power. The rest of the cast includes David Wenham, Caroline Ford, Tess Haubrich, Benedict Hardie, and Epine Bob Savea. Nekrotronic premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year. Now Momentum will release it in select...

Japan&#39;s Skip City film festival has announced their full line up and Screen Anarchy readers will no doubt want to take note of one very high profile world premiere because One Cut Of The Dead director Ueda Shinichiro makes his return as the writer and co-director of Aesop&#39;s Game! Says the official press release: The film is co-directed by Shinichiro Ueda, whose short film Take 8 received the Honorable Mention at the 2016 festival, Yuya Nakaizumi, whose feature debut film Running Again was screened as the Opening Gala film at the 2018 festival, and Naoya Asanuma, whose short film if winter burns won the Best Picture at the 2017 festival. All three directors worked for the sensational One Cut of the Dead, which garnered over...

The Film Arcade has released the official trailer for&nbsp;Being Frank, ahead of the planned Father&#39;s Day weekend release.&nbsp;&nbsp;Being Frank&nbsp;debuted at SXSW as&nbsp; You Can Choose Your Family, where We Live Entertainment hailed Gaffigan and Miller&#39;s &quot;spectacularly heartfelt and honest performances&quot;.&nbsp;&nbsp; The narrative directorial debut of Miranda Bailey,&nbsp;Being Frank&nbsp;will open in&nbsp;Los Angeles and New York June 14th, before expanding to select cities June 21st. Seventeen-year old Philip (Miller) longs to leave his small town for music school in The Big Apple. His dreams are dashed when his overbearing father, Frank (Gaffigan) forbids it. In retaliation to his father&#39;s dictatorial parenting, he sneaks away in search of a wild spring break. However, when he crosses state lines, he instead finds a charming lake community where he spots his father...

Zilla and Zoe is an indie genre comedy from director Jessica Scalise about a ten-year-old girl named Zoe who is obsessed with making horror films. As a deadline for a big film contest approaches, Zoe is determined to win, but her father gets in the way when he learns of her gory activities. Shot in Portland, the film is set to be released by Indican Pictures starting May 17 at Laemmle Theatre in North Hollywood, California, with the filmmakers in attendance. A wider theatrical run in several cities across the United States will follow. Zilla and Zoe stars Aida Valentine as Zoe, along with Greg James (Between the Trees), Sam Kamerman (The Librarians) and Kurt Conroyd. Following its theatrical sprint, the film will hit DVD...

Let me put this simply: Thomas Wright&#39;s Acute Misfortune is very likely the strongest directorial debut that I have encountered over the past year. Transitioning to directing from a successful career as an actor - likely best known around these parts for his key roles in Top Of The Lake, Everest, Van Diemen&#39;s Land and the US version of The Bridge - Wright tackles here the true life story of artist Adam Cullen and his complex relationship with youthful biographer Erik Jensen and it is an absolute knockout. A winner at the Melbourne International Film Festival - where it premiered to huge critical response - Acute Misfortune is yet to be seen internationally (because, hey: biopic of an artist that most audiences will be unfamiliar...

<title>BLACK OUT Helmer Arne Toonen Delivers Super Slick Period Crime AMSTERDAM VICE</title>

That Dutch director Arne Toonen has not yet crossed over in to the English language market is more than a little baffling to me. We first came across Toonen with his Guy Ritchie flavored crime thriller Black Out a few years back and he struck us then as a director absolutely built for international success. His work is pop in all the right ways ... beautifully designed and composed, crackling with energy and absolutely oozing style. Black Out was also, however, very much not the sort of work that typically finds support in his native land and so Toonen has largely spent the intervening years occupied with commercial work and more youth oriented fare, where he ahs experienced significant commercial success. But he&#39;s back now...

When it comes to high quality genre fare out of South East Asia, Filipino director Erik Matti continues to lead the way. With a Cannes selection under his belt for hitman thriller On the Job, Matti has long been a favorite on the festival circuit and the prolific director seems to keep things fresh by continually shifting between genres and styles. Last year, for example, Matti tried his hand at full on martial arts action for the first time with Buy Bust. And now? Now he&#39;s released the trailer for full on horror title Kuwaresma. And while Matti&#39;s no stranger to horror this one looks to be notably darker than previous work. And you will find no complaints about that here. Filipino star Sharon Cuneta...

We&#39;ve been tracking the work of Canadian director David Fernandes in these pages for some time now and the helmer is back now with a proof of concept trailer for proposed web series The Wait. Pitched as the story of &#39;a ghost and a girl who need each other to be seen&#39;, The Wait is designed as a ten part web series and as part of the pitch process to Canadian funders they&#39;ve created a short proof of concept teaser for the show, which is looking good. Take a look below!...

Marie-Grete Heinemann&#39;s fast-talking throwback to the crime films of Roderiguez and Tarantino, hell even early Scorsese, is finally getting a digital bow through Global Digital Releasing in partnership with Rock n&#39; Tape Films. The crime story centers around a rogue undercover cop and a charismatic con man who have a system of ripping off those operating outside of the law for their own personal gain. But things go awry when a heist sucks them deep into a citywide conspiracy, leaving them both framed for crimes they didn&#39;t commit. The duo must find out who&#39;s conning them in order to protect themselves and the ones they love. Dead Dirty Con Men stars Peter Dobson, Kevin Interdonato, Claudia Christian, Louis Mandylor and Kristen Dalton. It was co-written...

After three long years of waiting, fans of The OA will finally get to see what happened to Brit Marling following the dramatic and somewhat controversial ending of the series&#39; first season. If you are new to the series, I highly recommend not watching the trailer below as how the story continues is something of a spoiler and can only truly wow if you&#39;re aware of how different it is from season one. You got that? So, spoilers ahead. In a move no one could have predicted, part two of The OA follows Brit Marling&#39;s Prairie Johnson as she wakes up in a new dimension that she caused by &quot;jumping&quot; at the end of season one. And based on the season two synopsis, it seems...

In just nine days, Chinese sci-fi film The Wandering Earth has made $420 million at the Chinese box office alone and will soon become the second film to reach three billion yuan within ten days of being released. This also makes it 2019&#39;s largest grossing film to date with some box office prognosticators wondering if it will even out perform Captain Marvel. Now, here&#39;s the crazy part. The production budget of the film is estimated at a mere $50 million. In the epic, post-apocalyptic space adventure, the sun died out so people all around the world built giant planet thrusters to move Earth out of its orbit and sail it to a new star system. Yet the 2,500 year journey came with unexpected dangers and,...

Hollywood is a tough town and not even a star-studded indie comedy like Amelia&#39;s 25th is safe from the pitfalls that come with tinsel town. That&#39;s why indie distributor Global Releasing is giving this coming-of-age, romantic comedy a second chance with a digital release this Friday, January 18. Amelia&#39;s 25th centers around struggling actress Amelia Cruz as she attempts to celebrate her birthday in a town where 25 is the new 55. Following Amelia for a day, the film sees her struggle to not only navigate her way through life, but a barrage of eccentric &quot;Hollywood characters&quot; who seem to be assaulting her senses at every turn. But with the help of a mysterious stranger, Amelia may find a way to actually celebrate turning 25...

Indonesian western and Singapore&#39;s submission for the Oscars&#39; &quot;Best Foreign-Language Film category, Buffalo Boys, is now available in select theaters and on Digital. The internationally produced, 19th century martial-arts western was directed by Mike Wiluan (also a co-producer on Crazy Rich Asians) and co-written with Raymond Lee and Rayya Markarim. It garnered favaorable reviews when it premiered at the Fantasian Film Festival last year (though our own Andrew Mack was largly disappointed).&nbsp; In the film, two exiled brothers who grew up on the plains of the American Wild West, return to their rightful home to unravel the mystery of their past and avenge the brutal death of their parents. Buffalo Boys stars Yoshi Sudarso (TV&#39;s &quot;Power Rangers: Dino Chargo&quot; and &quot;Pretty Boys&quot;), Ario Bayu (Java...

Velvet Buzzsaw looks insane. It&#39;s a supernatural horror film centered around the cutthroat world of art collecting, buying and selling, where the art literally starts eating its critics and greedy sellers. I&#39;m so in! The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Toni Collette (is she in every cool movie these days?) and is written and directed by Nightcrawler&#39;s Dan Gilroy. Synopsis: After a series of paintings by an unknown artist are discovered, a supernatural force enacts revenge on those who have allowed their greed to get in the way of art. Velvet Buzzsaw will premier at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival followed by a worldwide Netflix release on February 1, 2019. Check out the trailer below:...

Sometimes in life what you really need are lizard people, a Canadian cult comedian and a genocidal fascist riding a dinosaur. And if that&#39;s what you need in your life today, well, we&#39;ve got you sorted! Yup, it&#39;s the theatrical trailer for Iron Sky: The Coming Race! Here&#39;s what the creators have to say about it: &ldquo;I&rsquo;m really excited about the release&rdquo;, says director Timo Vuorensola, who has been working on the film for 6 years straight, after the successful launch of the previous film in 2012. The first Iron Sky was released in over 60 countries worldwide, and became an established cult hit. &ldquo; The Coming Race is a big and wild ride &ndash; now it&rsquo;s time to see how far we can reach this...

Indonesian director Joko Anwar is a long time favorite in these pages. From his start in character driven comedy (Joni&#39;s Promise) we&#39;ve watched Anwar move from genre to genre, and seemingly master them all. And following the massive success of his most recent foray in to horror with Satan&#39;s Slaves Anwar is moving in to some new territory and bringing a local comic book icon to the big screen with his latest effort, Gundala. Harya Hasmi&#39;s Indonesian comic book Gundala Putera Petir (Gundala, The Son Of Thunder) first appeared in 1969 and continued in to the 1990s with its stories of a scientist superchared with special powers after being struck by lightning. Anwar names himself as a long time fan of the character and is...

Painless is a new thriller from the mind of Jordan Horowitz (Angel of Nanjing). The film follows a man named Henry Long who has a rare condition - congenital analgesia - and cannot feel pain, but can still feel strong emotion. So, what is the difference between pain and suffering? In the film, Henry (played by Joey Klein from 12 Monkeys) searches for a cure to his condition with the mysterious Shani (played by Evalena Marie from True Blood) as time is running out. Trapped in his deadened body, Henry struggles to relate to others, while desperately struggling to find a drug or a surgery that can relieve his suffering. And when Shani enters his life, he is finally motivated to find his own breakthrough,...

Things are getting weird in the Alps. All that pure mountain air is apparently turning the creators of the upcoming Mad Heidi a little bit odd as they spin the wholesome image of their homeland on its head for what they term the nation&#39;s first &#39;Swissploitation&#39; film. I know one thing for certain, you&#39;ll never look at fondue the same way again. The Heidi story moved the hearts of whole generations around the world. But meanwhile Heidi has grown up, just like us. She ain&rsquo;t no sweet little kid anymore. In the near future the world is sinking into war and chaos, but Switzerland has sealed itself off as an island of the rich. An egocentric heir of a multi-billionaire cheese empire is ruling the...

Well, now. It would appear that this is a Mo Brothers sort of week. The Indonesian directing duo rose to prominence a decade ago now when their much loved short film Dara hit the festival circuit. And the ascent was rapid from their with debut feature, Macabre, premiering at BIFAN and sophomore effort Killers launching at Sundance. The Brothers - not actually brothers, but old friends Timo Tjahjanto and Kimo Stamboel - have had a shifting relationship since with Stamboel producing a pair of Tjahjanto directed solo efforts in recent years while both went off to direct solo horror features earlier this year. Just last night Tjahjanto hosted the world premiere of his action opus The Night Comes For Us (produced by Stamboel) and the...

Prospect stars stars Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Narcos), Sophie Thatcher (The Exorcist) and Jay Duplass (Transparent). It is based on a short by Earl and Caldwell. It...

The current wave of high end South African films continues with Sara Blecher&#39;s crime drama Mayfair, a film that enters in to the Muslim-Indian communities of Johannesburg with a tale of conflicted loyalties and escalating violence. Computer whiz and prodigal son Zaid is on a quest for spiritual discovery. As an international aid worker, he lives as far away as possible from his father, Aziz Randera, a successful import-exporter, and occasional money launderer and loan shark. But when he is fired from his job in a refugee camp for ignoring the rules and actually doing good rather than shuffling papers, Zaid returns to South Africa and to Mayfair, an Indian Muslim enclave in Johannesburg, for the first time in years. At home, everything has changed....

With the adaptations of Jussi Adler-Olsen&#39;s Department Q novels breaking box office records in Denmark - where previous entries The Keeper Of Lost Causes, The Absent One, and A Conspiracy Of Faith were all huge hits - it comes as no surprise to see stars Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Fares Fares take on the parts of cold case cops once again for the upcoming Journal 64. Christoffer Boe (Reconstruction, Beast, Everything Will Be Fine) takes over the director&#39;s chair this time with the story revolving around a series of disappearances in 1987. Boe brings some of his favorite supporting actors along for the ride - yep, that&#39;s Nicolas Bro tucked away in the trailer because it just wouldn&#39;t be a Boe movie without him -...

<title>Interview: HOSTILE Director Mathieu Turi Talks Debut Feature</title>

Mathieu Turi&#39;s debut feature may have just released yesterday from Sony Pictures, but he&#39;s far from a newbie. In fact, the French director has been working behind the scenes of many huge franchise films for years, including G.I. Joe, Tarantino&#39;s Inglorious Basterds and Guy Ritchie&#39;s Sherlock Holmes films, to name a few. But after years of being assistant to the assistant, Turi knew he needed to make the leap into directing his own material and so took the plunge after meeting producer Xavier Gens (The Divide, Hitman). He pitched a few ideas and Hostile, a post-apocalyptic chamber piece of sorts, won out for its high-concept and low budget, and he was quickly off to the races. I had the chance to speak with Turi about...
