IDENTICALS

NONE OF US ARE AS UNIQUE AS WE HOPE

The organization Brand New-U identifies networks of IDENTICALS – people who walk like you, talk like you, but are walking through different, better lives - and helps their customers make a life upgrade: eliminating the better-life donor, and relocating their client to that brand new life. Slater seems to have the perfect life, the perfect job and the perfect girlfriend. But when Slater’s girlfriend is abducted by Brand New-U, and a corpse is left in her place, he is forced to become an Identical. As he moves through a series of parallel lives, he becomes more and more obsessed with finding his girlfriend, but what he must find in the end is himself.

On January 17^th 2017 EYE Film Museum Amsterdam will screen Simon Pummell’s most recent feature film IDENTICALS to mark the Dutch multi-platform distribution of the film by OD Media and the acquisition of Pummell’s working archive by EYE Film Archive.  Pummell will be present at the screening and will be interviewed by Patricia Pisters (Professor of Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam).  Pummell’s long-time producing partner Janine Marmot, and producer of Rinkel Film: Reinier Selen, will also be present. On January 18^th  2017 "Identicals" will be screened at KINO Rotterdam and the next day the film will be online on iTunes.
